Wildlife Photography

A collection of my photographs of wildlife in the UK and around the world.  From birds and mammals close to home to bears on the border between Finland and Russia where you can see the border markers on the trees and the Russian bears emerge from the forest and lumber into Finland to graze on berries.

Back in September 2018, I had my second visit to Northern Finland to photograph wild brown bears. The video clip shows an adult male that walked past my hide one evening.  He was pretty close and, if you listen carefully, you can hear me hyperventilating in the background! This was in the days before I went to mirrorless cameras - so you can hear my Nikon D500 clicking away. The bear is obviously not at all worried about the noise!
